The New Thinking College

Rudolf Steiner's teachings have centers in Stuttgart, Dornach, and Alanus College/University where young people can  either study Steiner's work or related fields/trends from the anthroposophical point of view. In the United States and Canada, there are no longer anthroposophical foundation years available and there are no long term, in-person training for Waldorf teachers. Teaching being one of the most challenging professions requires a deep prolonged preparation.

The Useful Teachers College Proposal outlines a new form of teacher preparation that combines life skills (gardening, food preparation, clothe making, house building etc.) with a solid liberal arts background and pedagogical know-how. Most teacher preparation has a strong divide between theory and actual classroom praxis.
